Animancy: first post-jam update!



Better late than never, eh? :D

I added quite a lot of stuff I'm proud of since the Jam version, as well as fixed a lot of its issues, and I really wanted to share my progress, so here is a new version!

Keep in mind, this version is still a very early and very rough one, a lot of essential stuff is missing, and I'm still working on crucial game mechanics (like random generation).


Here's a short list of some of the changes I've made since the jam version:

  • Added 5 new enemy types, as well as a boss at the end of the demo!
  • Added an inventory system, and some items to go along with it
  • Added a couple new spells
  • Made a lot of small quality-of-life changes,  like improving soul behavior, tweaking existing spells, and a lot more
  • Added some new environmental hazards and obstacles, as well as shortcuts that stay open after you die (this is just for demo purposes). Also, torches.
  • Added layers, so walls actually look like walls now.
  • Added some (but not all, unfortunately) sound effects, as well as two new soundtracks. I will continue to work on the sound.
  • Some other, smaller things I honestly don't remember right now
